EOSC SIESTA participation at the European AI Security network CrossTalk event in Brussels

10 European funded projects presented their solutions on AI and Cybersecurity

On October 22nd, the European AI Security Network (EASiNet) hosted a CrossTalk Event at the Delegation of the Emilia-Romagna Region to the EU in Brussels with the focus on AI and cybersecurity.

The event showcased innovative solutions developed by ten major EU-funded projects, which include TRUMPET, FLUTE, ENCRYPT, HARPOCRATES, PAROMA-MED, KATY, ONCOVALUE, EOSC-TITAN, AI4EOSC and EOSC-SIESTA.

These projects form a network of more than 50 partners across Europe as hospitals, ICT companies, legal agencies, research institutes, collaborating to address crucial challenges in Cloud Security, Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs), and Federated Learning for healthcare applications. The event also featured distinguished contributions from ENISA, and from the European Commission – DG SANTE, DG CONNECT – whose representatives provided insights into ongoing and future European policies.

The first track of the data was on Cloud Security for Data, presenting innovations in secure data storage and processing in cloud environments. The session was chaired by Judith Sáinz-Pardo, researcher from the EOSC SIESTA project. In this same track, Aida Palacio and Andrés Heredia, researchers at EOSC SIESTA, gave a seminar on security and ISO standards, and on the challenges and opportunities of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) respectively.

The second track of the day concerned Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) .This topic is aligned with many of the objectives of EOSC SIESTA, including encryption, data privacy via anonymization or differential privacy among others. The last track was on Federated Learning Adoption and Certification in Healthcare, including regulatory compliance and privacy-preserving data-sharing platforms.
