Epidemiology

In the epidemiology domain (Use Case 1), led by CSIC-IFISC, the objective is to collect data required for epidemiological models, including population, mobility and surveillance data, from both public and private sources.

To support this, tools have been developed to enable the integration and sharing of participatory surveillance system data within the EOSC-SIESTA framework.

Based on these datasets, models are built to study propagation scenarios of generic infectious diseases, allowing researchers to better understand and simulate the spread of diseases under different conditions.

Finally, a user-friendly interface has been developed to facilitate access to these models. In this context, Epidemiradar has been developed as a citizen science platform where individuals voluntarily report their weekly health status through a web interface, generating anonymised data that is visualised via interactive maps.
