EOSC-SIESTA at the EOSC Symposium 2026

The EOSC-SIESTA project will attend the EOSC Symposium 2026, which takes place on 14–16 October at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Florence (Italy).

Organised by the EOSC Association with the support of the EOSC Gravity project, the Symposium is the flagship event for everyone driving the future of Europe’s research data ecosystem. It will bring together 500 participants on site, including policymakers, funders, researchers, infrastructure leaders and data stewards.

This year’s theme is “Connecting users, data, and services”, and the EOSC Federation is at the centre of the programme. This edition will mark the formal transition of the EOSC Federation into operations.

The programme is organised into three thematic tracks:

  • EOSC collaborations and future opportunities
  • EOSC best practices and user experience
  • EOSC Federation operationalisation

The event will feature keynotes from influential voices across the global research and innovation landscape. Italy’s Minister of University and Research will take part in the opening.

Over three days, the sessions will review the state of play of the EOSC Federation and the lessons learnt from the EOSC Nodes already in production. They will also address data federation, trustworthiness and sovereignty, the relationship between EOSC and Data Spaces, and the automation of data FAIRification. Other sessions will discuss business models for the EOSC Federation and how EOSC can help strengthen Europe’s leadership in AI for science.

The programme also includes eight lightning talks, selected from 42 applications. In an exhibition area, EOSC Nodes, INFRAEOSC projects and EOSC Association Task Forces will showcase their work. The closing plenary will introduce the second wave of EOSC Nodes.
