SIESTA at the EOSC Symposium 2025

The EOSC-SIESTA project took part in the EOSC Symposium 2025, held from 3 to 5 November at Hotel Le Plaza Brussels, an event that once again brought together the main actors shaping the future of the European Open Science Cloud. This year’s symposium marked the transition and launch of the EOSC operational phase within the upcoming EOSC Federation, setting the foundations for the next stage of governance, coordination and service integration.

During the Symposium, the SIESTA team discussed the project’s latest developments with siter projects (TITAN, ENTRUST) and other representatives from multiple EOSC-related initiatives, national nodes, and research communities, with a special focus on the importance of privacy-preserving technologies, interoperable workflows and strong governance models in enabling researchers to work safely with confidential datasets. This was a good opportunity to  align SIESTA’s work with emerging standards and ongoing European efforts in data federation. Participation in the event also strengthened links with complementary projects working on authentication and authorisation frameworks, secure computing solutions, and cross-border data-access mechanisms, setting the basis for future collaboration.

Our participation in the symposium has  helped to contextualise SIESTA’s work within the operational reality of the EOSC ecosystem, supporting the refinement of our roadmap, as the project enters into its final phase.
